The Fokker planes was invented by Dutch founder Anthony Fokker. The Company started in 1912 in Germany before moving to the Netherlands in 1919. Fokker recently went into bankruptcy in 1996 but had its most successful time during the 1920's to the 1930's. The first of Anthony Fokkers success was with his first plane the Spin (Spider) After having sold many of the model spin Monoplanes to the German Government fokker later supplied Aircraft to the German Army. The Fokker D.V11 was designed by Reinhold Platz and 3,300 of the planes had been produced by late 1918 and regarded as one of the best fighting Aircraft of the First Word War.
